Workshops and Location Seminars

Graham taught digital photography at Truckee Meadows Community College, art centers in California and he has given many workshops and classes. He loves to share his knowledge, and being now retired he has the time.

Listed below are dates for some Sierra Club--Great Basin Group digital photography outings. During these outings Graham will discuss general photography and digital photography subjects. He will spend time with each individual and the technical aspects of their digital camera. Death Valley Photo Trip

Join retired photographer & teacher Graham Stafford on car camp trip to Death Valley, a photographer’s wonderland. Visit Eureka Dunes, dunes at Stove Pipe Wells, dunes at Saratoga Springs, Racetrack and Artist Drive. All levels of photography experience accepted---beginners encouraged. Lessons with class handouts will cover all aspects of your digital camera and general photography.

1. Your camera and instruction book. The objective is for each person to achieve a proficiency and knowledge with their camera.

2. Proper white balance and film use.

3. Aperture, shutter speed, and depth of field.

4. Framing and composition--rule of thirds--get the junk out--the importance of a tripod--learn to see what the film/CCD chip sees.

5. Exposure--filter use--quality of light--spot, center weighted and Matrix metering.

6. Basic PhotoShop and PhotoShop Elements use.
